CONFERENCE IMPLEMENTATION IN VIETNAM OF THE NEW YORK CONVENTION OF 1958 ON THE RECOGNITION AND ENFORCEMENT OF FOREIGN ARBITRAL AWARDS
Nicolas Audier participated in a conference organized by the Ministry of Justice of Vietnam on 27 August 2014 about the implementation in Vietnam of the New York Convention of 1958 on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards.
The objective of the conference was to review the implementation of the New York Convention and to propose resolutions to improve the efficiency of recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in Vietnam.
Among the other participants were several judges from Ho Chi Minh City and from the southern provinces, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Ministry of Justice and several other experts in the field.
Nicolas signaled, among other things, the concerns of foreign investors regarding the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in Vietnam and he explained, by comparison, how the New York Convention is implemented in other member states, including France, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
